Doug Parker is a Principal in the Austin office of Ensight Haynes Whaley. He manages all local projects and oversees project design and delivery. Doug began his career at Haynes Whaley in 1998 and later transitioned to the Ensight Haynes Whaley team in 2017. He has worked on structural projects of all scales, from massive corporate campuses to minutely detailed building forensics.

 

Doug’s secret power is maintaining schedules – everything from internal deadlines to project completion, he is determined to maintain constant forward movement toward the finish line. It’s a trait summed up in his favorite quote, from the eternal wisdom of the band Rush, “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.” Doug makes sure choices are always made in a timely manner.

 

When not solving structural engineering challenges, you can find Doug playing sand and indoor volleyball. This competitive drive is a carryover from his teen years performing in BMX flatland-freestyle events across Texas. And yes, Doug can *probably* still do a Funky Chicken, a Whiplash, and maybe even a Rope-a-Roni, if only he still owned his bike.
